Default Painted Bunting Taking a Bath

Thought I'd get one more theme image in before the end of the month. Here's a Painted Bunting male taking a well-deserved bath after crossing the Gulf during last year's spring warbler migration.

Beautiful color and the droplets add a lot to the image. Maybe some CW rotation, Doug?

Great colors and the fill flash helped colors to stand out even more. I really like the red ring around the eye, having a contrast with blue feathers around it. I would crop a bit more from the bottom and leave more room on top of the frame.

    Very nice Doug.
These birds are so colourful and photogenic!
I am a "loose" kind of girl and would prefer a looser crop, but this is a personal preference.
Lovely details on the bird and great POV.
Would have loved to see the tail a bit better but still nice as is,

Thats a serious riot of colour Doug! Great details and I love the water drops. It might be the angle of the bird but it does have the impression of needing a touch of rotation.

Great color detail water drops, just really nice overall. I agree on a slight rotation. Love that clear look at the eye. TFS

What a great looking image Doug. Love the tighter crop with the nice details the water droplets. Talk about a colorful bird well done buddy

Hi Doug, great IQ here, and this fellow certainly has a variety of colours. Great bathing behaviour for the theme, and I do like the low perspective.
