John I do like the beautiful dark eye and damp nose and very nice detail a and texture of the coat, just from my own thought the only thing I might change is perhaps maybe a drop the contrast on the bg a little bit, having said that it's very nice as posted.

Hi John - A nice portrait of the doe and sharpness looks good despite what I still consider a slow ss for hand held. Nice reflection in the eye. If it were mine I would crop from the bottom to the bottom of the chest. I would also reduce the blues in the black and the greens and cyan in the whites. Are these images mostly from a couple of sightings or do you regularly go out and find the deer?

    TFS,
    Rachel

Thanks Rachel, i Regularly go out to photograph deer. They are pretty easy to find and common around here. I usually go to a couple neighborhood parks and around the local colleges.

Thanks John. So next time you go out try pulling back a little on the zoom to give yourself some leeway with crop/comp afterwards. I don't remember seeing them on campus but certainly out by Taughannock and other areas along the lake.
