    Default Pretty Pipit in Purple

    Attached Images Attached Images

This is a meadow pipit. They are found everywhere in Iceland.
    Canon 1 DX
    600 mm and 1.4 x
    SS 1/320 ISO 800 F 6.3
    Shot as vertical.
Taken in Iceland. The beautiful purple lupins (an introduced species of flower in 1945 to stabilize the soil) can be found all through Iceland. They make for really pretty pictures.
PP: Crop to 70% FF. Usual in LR and I cloned out a small bright flower head in RLC .
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

    Gail:

Lovely colors, pose, bg. Nice alliteration in the title too!

I have mixed feelings about the post in the background. Adds depth, but is very slightly distracting. Because the subject itself is small, I think the eye tends to wander a bit more to other parts of the image. I might do a version with it toned down a bit more, just to see if it has a positive effect. In general I do like repeating lines/patterns in an image, so perhaps it is best with it in there, but worth a quick peek.

    Cheers

Those lupines photo bomb all the time hahaha, the setting and gorgeous colors are so pleasing to me I don't mind the extra post. The pipit chose an exquisite perch, love this post and the details, down to the wetness on the belly. What a wonderful shoot we had at this place! Well done Gail, a beauty.

I'm not typically a fan of birds on posts but this shot is an exception for sure. Nice weathered perch and in a beautiful sea of purple. Bird looks very nice as well. I do think I would try and clone out the white flower blob right where the date on your signature is.

I love all these wonderful colors Gail. The way the changing height of the flowers lead up to the bird on both sides is great. The only critique I have is that a few of the purple flowers above your signature appear to have slightly unnatural edges - something you did in post perhaps? Or maybe it's just me struggling to find something to add...

Very nice Gail. Love those purples. You got a great pose and HA, also good detail on the bird. I like the crop and the perch. It all fits together nicely

Beautiful Frame. I like it how you have included the Purple flowers in the frame.

    Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the comment. I did not clone anything in that area!
