    Default Clay-colored Sparrow

    Another image of a Clay-colored Sparrow captured about three weeks ago. I used a setup to get a cleaner image of him perched. The predominant shrub and or tree close by was the Juniper which was fine, but I also liked the warm tones from dried grass. C&C welcome.


    D500, Nikon 500mm f4/G + 1.4 TC, 1/1250s, f 8.0, ISO 500, ff, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Love the bird and the BG color but not crazy about the perch.

    Another nice shot of this elusive bird!!! At least I heard him singing a bunch I love the background and the details look pretty good. I think the perch does overwhelm the sparrow but then again everything does because they are just so tiny. I think the perch is interesting with the peeling bark and that tiny stem. It is not ideal but works for me.

    Thank you Gail and Isaac. I'm a bit on the fence re the perch. I tried a few crops, but kept coming back to this.
