    Default Feeding American Oystercatcher

On my last trip to Nickerson Beach I came across this mostly grown up young American Oystercatcher. The sun was mostly set and I was walking back to the car but saw this bird feeding in really beautiful light at the waters edge. Couldn't resist taking some photos of it and I am really glad that I did.

    Canon 1DX and Canon 500 f4 ii + 1.4x iii. ISO 1600, F5.6, SS 1/1600.

Processed with DPP 4.6 and PS.

Very good catch for both the AMOY and you. Exceptional light and love the open beak with suspended prey. Nice POV and beautiful BG.

Lovely feel to this one and love that low angle and feeding behavior. This AMOY is actually still quite young. It'll take a bit before its eyes turn orange and it's beak totally red.

What a shot, Isaac! Well seen considering you were packing up to leave and you are right - the light is great. The low angle and intensity of the bird work well against the pastel colours of the background.

Nice light, HA, detail, prey item, setting and DOF. Love how you really nailed the shooting angle. Masterfully done. TFS

Isaac, you nailed this one, low angle, sweet light, nice BG, prey and catchlight.

Beautiful Shot. I like the way you captured the image with the pray in the Air.

    Nice clean back ground.

    Thanks for sharing.
