    Default Hybrid Scarlet-Great Green Macaw

One of the highlights of the Costa Rica workshop that I co-lead with Greg Basco has to be the opportunity to photograph wild Macaws (Great Greens (endangered), Scarlets, and Hybrids) in flight. Their colors, poses, and expressions make them great subjects! I shot this frame in February during our most recent workshop. Looking forward to 2018!

    Doug:

Great colors, wing and tail spread, head angle. Remarkable DOF with that lens and settings.

    Beautiful .

    Cheers

All of the above and I like the fact that some of the greenery is in focus .It brings the rainforest habitat into the story as well. Great.

Wow Doug, what a beautifully framed image, i like the diagonal focused leaves. What a bird! Love the colors of course but I'm taken with the topside pose and the beautiful symmetry strait down to the scarlet top tail feathers... one of the best.

Beautiful top side view with spread wings and beautiful colors. Agree that the background is really nice as well. Really great shot Doug.

    This is awesome, Doug!
Wonderful vibrant colours and such good image quality. Great framing, I like the vegetation around the subject which creates a lovely 3D feel. Sharpness is there where it matters and the HA form the bird is superb. Congratulations

    Kind regards,

This is one heck of an image. Love the POV and the added environment frames the bird just right.
