    Default Red-headed Weaver

This image is from a recent trip to the Kruger National Park. These little guys had a small breeding colony right at the entrance of the Letaba rest camp. The males provided me with a lot of amusement as they desperately tried to attract the attention of a female. This guy was hanging upside down on his half-built nest swinging like a pendulum in front of a decidedly disinterested female:)

Terrific image Chris. The pose of this weaver is typical of this group of birds. Fantastic details and sharpness. I am not sure because my monitor at the office is not very good but the reds seems very saturated. Probably I am wrong and my appreciation is due to the monitor but reds sometimes are difficult to deal with on digital files.

Beautiful bird, great pose, colors and details. I might remove one of the catchlights and would prefer a more even BG. Thanks for sharing!

Great pose, specially the hanging foot :)
Agree with Juan on de-saturating the reds a little bit.

It must have been great fun to watch these little guys! Wonderful image and pose... I love the fact that he's only hanging by 1 foot. The BG doesn't bother me a bit and it's seems very well composed and framed.

Excellent color here. I love the hanging part of it the most. Guys can be so silly when trying to get a girls attention. :D

I think the eye contact here is great too. I absolutely adore this bird. I'll have to look these up to see if they are ever in my neck of the woods. Wonderful picture.
