    Default Little Egret

I visited the local pond in Pretoria and little while back, and managed to capture this rare visitor perched on the side of the pond looking for breakfast. I quite liked the contrast of the whites against the darker water which was in shade from a close by over hanging tree.

The dark BG really shows the bird well Stu. Lovely detail on the whites and I like the position of the bird in the frame. The movement of the water takes it up a notch.

Agree with Williams comment -- love the dark BG and details. Its a very 'dreamy' image which is great. A very cool perch too. I like the spots of blue in the BG too. TFS

Wonderful image Stu. The water almost looks like you used a filter with long exposure. Well composed, the Egret looks sharp, well exposed and has good detail.

Hi Stu - A beautiful image and I totally agree with you about the egret against the dark water. Nice control of the whites with great detail. If it were mine I might reduce the blue in the spot of water lower right so that it doesn't draw the eye.

I love the texture of the water and the little feather at the feet.
I would clone out the rock in a New York minute if mine!Agree with Rachel about toning down the blue spot in RLC
    Whites look good!
    Enjoyed viewing this,
