    Globe thistle at lake's edge.

    Canon 40D, EF 70-200mm f/4L
    ISO 100; f4 @ 1/320th
    AWB, Eval Meter, Handheld

    Processed in camera raw and converted to B&W

    This was a tricky one because I wanted more contrast but it kept wanting to blow the highlights on the surrounding "fuzz." I did do some burning & dodging and that seemed to help but I'm still not sure if I got it right. When something is this white (and backlit) is it okay for it to appear a bit "hot?" Comments appreciated!

    impressive esp. hh. detail is spectacular. perfect for B&W. On my calibrated cinema monitor whites look perfect.

    Works great Julie I like the sharply silhouetted elements surrounding the flower in contrast with the oof in the bg !!! Visually strong image !!! Big Congrats !!!
