Lovely dynamic flight shot Jon, I love the way the eels are being pulled back with the wind. Good downstroke on the wings as well.
Not sure if the wings could do with a little NR or its just the blur giving that impression.
Superb sharpness on the face.
Hope your in flight hit rate was better than mine - I nearly wore out the delete button!

Stand in the right place at Farnes Mike - it's like shelling peas! We got dozens of them, trouble is when I got back I realised that many taken with the zoom were unnecessarily small, I had let the zoom creep back to less than 400mm. I suppose that is an advantage of the 500mm, it slows you down and less to go wrong even though it is a little harder.

Hi Jon, I believe these guys are pretty fast flyers, so well captured here. Good angled flight pose, love the beak full of food, and the clouds in the BG add interest.

I nice angle here, John. I am thinking of getting a last minute trip to the Farnes in the next week or so.
This was taken on land I presume.

Mike yes this was on the Farnes, I suggest the whole day trip if you can make it and also if possible allow for two days just in case the boat can't sail due to weather conditions. Keep the sun behind you and keep checking the histogram - it's easy to forget!
