    We have something similar and all it cuckoo spit, it is produced by a bug called a froghopper. It is good and sharp - was the background really quite so yellow?

    Hey Jonathan, this is a frog hopper in its nymphal form. The foam is for moisture and protection. The background is in full sun.

    We have these too, though I've not tried to photograph one - you've done a very nice job with this one! You have beautiful light on your subject plus good detail throughout and I like the diagonal of the comp!
