    Default Coalition of brothers

A coalition of cheetahs walks down the plains of the Mara as the wildebeests watch cautiously. It was a sight to watch these guys walk casually while the animals watched nervously.

For the most part it works for me I like the juxtaposition of the animals, at first I thought if only the wildebeest were higher but no I like them where they are.
My only suggestion is perhaps a tad more saturation or possibly vibrance.

Hi Sanjeev, I really, really like this one of your best, love the way the Wildebeests are are quietly watching as the Cheetahs walk by and the way the mountains are layered by colour.

My only suggestion is perhaps a tad more saturation or possibly vibrance.
It will go too yellow Jon, you won't have the separation needed. I might up the Exp, Whites and slightly darken the FG if required.

    Very photogenic.
I have looked at this a few times and tried to work out what it is, and I think it is because of the number of layers - grass in the foreground, a band of 4 cheetahs across the frame, a band of 4 wildebeest then the bands of the distant mountains. A nice composition.

Sanjeev,i'm not sure if I have ever seen four cheetah brothers together like this,it's an enchanting image for that alone. There is a real tension to this shot, the predators seemingly nonchalant, the herbivores on tender hooks, leastways thats what I take from this one. It's a very fine frame Sanjeev, lovely execution. Sanjeev I'm in two minds about that central tree betwixt the two pairs of gnu it's not really something that is a major botherence, it's just my eye is drawn to it.
As Steve mentioned the layers in the bkg are lovely

Thanks Mike and Stu. Stu, yes there was palpable tension as we saw it. If you notice the third wildebeest from right he/she saw them walk by and as if it suddenly dawned to him/her that these guys mean business it just turned and ran away! Funnily some WBs followed the cheetahs parallelly and the stop for a moment and then turn and run.

Hi Sanjeev - I too really like this. The cheetahs look like they are on a mission but totally ignoring the wildebeests. The subtle colors and layers work for me. I also noticed that area/tree that Mike is talking about and wondered if you had cloned anything there because there looks to be some repetition.

Also, don't forget to comment on other images when you post your own.

Thanks Rachel. No cloning done whatsoever in the image.

Hi Sanjeev -- Simply loved the feel of the scene with the gang of Cheetahs walking past the alert Wildebeest , such a pleasing sight ! Nicely processed as well , sometimes that atmospheric haze becomes a problem in the savannah but you have done extremely well , so far the best from your recent trip to Africa !

    TFS !
