HI Cindy, You did pretty well with this dramatically side-lit bird. I love the purple on the branch. A healthy dose of flash can really do wonders with images like this by lighting the shadowed side. If you'd like to try it put the flash at zero and see how it looks.

I like the image design here, with a strong vertical composition. Was there more colour to the lores? Greenish perhaps? Looks like you grayed out the colours there.
