Here is a wider shot with a better angle of the lion quenching its thirst. The belly looks full so guess the pride must have feasted overnight.

A nice theme image Sanjeev, fits well IMO. Nice to have her so close to the water. Lighting is a little tough coming from the side but you've presented it well. If its not too big a crop I might be tempted to lose some of the negative space off the left, it doesn't really add much to the shot for me.

Hi Sanjeev - the HLs look better here than the prior post. Nice drinking image and a bit stronger reflection too. Mike's suggestion is a good one.

Hi Sanjeev you would have been better to have bolted on the 500 here, or just going to the full extent of the lens here, as I think you have thrown away a lot of valuable data/info reducing IQ. Loosing IQ on the 7D is not ideal IMHO, however good to see you pushing the ISO and not being afraid. Why did you not wait for the tongue, that would have been the shot for me as it just looks like a Lioness is looking at the water. Perhaps you have a frame further on. Any taken tight in as you had the angle????

Steve, I do have a few frames and I do have some where I zoomed in. Missed putting on the 500mm on the 7D or I should have added the 1.4 or 2X to the 500mm & 5D III combo that was lying next to me. Thanks a lot for your comments.

Hi Sanjeev, I'm just trying to maximising your encounters and perhaps what you could have done. Easy to say from a chair, but you have the capability for sure, it's just trying to quietly, but quickly think at the time before the moment goes. Perhaps that's just me and thinking too hard at the image. When you are over next we could raise that pint and chew over a few options????

Block out mid Feb - Mid March & late June to mid July too as I will not be around, however i guess it's all subject to work for you. However I'm still juggling with hooking up with someone else this year which is a nightmare on timings for me at present, oh well...

I like this frame more than the previous, dear Sanjeev.

Nice drinking pose, better exposed, good DoF, great to see this "fat" youngster in all its beauty. BTW those paws are huge, love to see lions in such good condition!

Agree with Mike and Rachel's suggestion regarding crop and Steve gave you some nice pointers to keep in mind for the future.

Let us have some more from this sighting please, would like to see some eyes too?

Hope you have a lovely evening, thank you so much for sharing,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
