Watched this heron try to eat this catfish for about half an hour. When it first caught the catfish two bald eagles kept trying to steal it. After they gave up another heron tried unsuccessfully. Image adjustments in Lightroom. Hand held, small crop.

Wow thats some size of a fish for a heron. i like the details on the bird. Nice pose and the giant prey adds lots to the image. Just wondering if you lifted the shadows on the fish, it may bring out more detail? Nice one John, did you get the bald eagles

Quite a catch, and a nice look at the catfish. I agree that lifting the shadows or dropping the contrast might help.
