I captured this Dickcissel singing its heart out. I wish it would have sat on a bit cleaner perch with its tail visible, but i like the pose, lighting and background.

A very unusual image and also very attractive. I appreciate you had reservations over the perch but would it have been possible to have more canvas on the LHS, for me the bird looks a tad large in the frame and I think if the crop were a little smaller the image quality would be a tad better.

Except for he part hiding the tail, which is unfortunate as you mention, the perch is OK to me. I like the singing pose, and beautiful BG. I'd have preferred a native 3:2 format, in either vertical or horizontal. Nice light!

Hi Daniel! Learning time for me again. What is a native 3:2 format? Thanks bro!

Hey Michael, its the aspect ratio of the image (a perfect square would be 1:1). Images straight out of the camera are 3:2. I'm open to other formats, but I feel your image would be stronger keeping it in the original ratio.
