    A female Eastern Pondhawk dragonfly (males are a powder blue color) resting on bracken fern. Canon 1DX II, 100mm macro. 1/125, f/16, ISO 500, KX-800 macro twin lite (diffused) as main light, hand held.

    Hi Steve,
    I really like this composition with the green and black dragonfly on a background of similar colors. Shows how this species can blend in with its surroundings even though this image is still striking IMO. I find this species difficult to photograph as they like to perch very low towards the ground. Good job in getting this one in such a pleasing setting.

    This works with the ferns and dragonfly being the same color.

    Fine shot Steve, very sharp lovely colours and I like your lighting, very nice indeed. I like the composition, it makes a change to see one on a fern.
