Some how the image file did not upload yesterday. So I am repeating the post with the file attached. Enjoy. Comments welcome.

Pleased to share an image of Brown throated sunbird looking intently for honey. Brown throated sunbird is one of the four spices of sunbirds native to Singapore. Image cropped to focus on the bird. Extra bud at the bottom of the image cloned away to reduce distraction. Post processed by PSCC2017.

The image is sharp and detailed with a bright clear eye. The bg works to show off the bright colors of the Sunbird. I am finding the large colorful perch slightly distracting with the reds at the top a bit over saturated. I have never seen one before so tfs.

    Jay:

Amazing colors, nice color harmony between the red plant and the birds eye.

I agree with John about the plant being a bit overpowering, but still an effective image because the bird is so well lit, and detailed.

The brightest reds I could find were around 230, but you certainly could tweak the brightness and saturation to taste to reduce the impact of the plant just a bit.

    Cheers

    Hi John,

Many thanks for taking time to view and comment. Agree with you about over saturation of the red. I did try to burn, but now see could have done more. Cheers!

    Hi Randy,

Thank you for your constructive feedback. After reading your and John's comment, I do clearly see now that I did not go far enough in reducing luminosity and saturation of reds. I also am not using histogram values, but your comment has sensitised me to that more objective tool. Thanks for that. Cheers!
