    Default Rose-breasted Grosbeak with ants

I found this fellow eating something in the grassy verge along a trail in a local woods. Each time a jogger went by he would fly into a bush, and then return to the grassy spot. It was only after I looked at my images on the computer that I realized every frame showed ants crawling on him. He must have found an ant nest in the grass. According to Cornell's All About Birds, this species will supplement their diet with insects, including ants, during the breeding season.

Nice pose and background. Whites look very good and details as well. Just wish you have some more details in the blacks of the throat and maybe a little more of a head turn so more of the beak is in the depth of field.
