    Lance:

I like the surrealistic feel to this one, blurred fore and background, limited color palette , subject framing, all good. Good shooting angle.

How much post processing was required for this one?

    Cheers

    Thanks Randy.

All I did was warm the image a little as it was taken under full cloud cover.

And then cropped to a 16:9 aspect as I'm not much of a fan of 3:2 aspect....

Sweet image. I really like it. The foreground/background is so handsome that the pano crop works nicely. A bit too bad (IMHO) that the bird's legs coincide with the dirt pile, but not a big deal. Great color palette.

Thanks Bill. I agree, it's the only place it sat still and then flew away...

I looked at this shot a few different times before commenting to see if I changed my mind. I like the color palette and I like the layers of the dirt mounds. Agree that the bird in front of the mound is not ideal. The large and out of focus area on the bottom right is too close to the bird and distracts from the bird for me. I find the image too dark. Looks like you applied too much contrast as the bird has that chunky feel to me. I does not have the look of how I remember these birds. Their backs are a sandy brown that blends in well with their surroundings and there is more of an orange wash to the breast as opposed to a deeper orange breast.
