    Default black oyster catcher

    This was one of a five that were hanging around the ferry terminal at Tsawwassen, B.C, last spring. They are usually pretty cooperative to a close approach. I caught him/her 1/2 way through a bit of a fluff-up. CANON 7D MII, Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, ISO 800, f/5.6, f/1000,

    This is terrific! I was there in February and did not get anything this nice.
    Love the IQ and the fluffed up feathers and that rock with the shells on the right.

    Love the fluffed up feathers, the black toenails and the rocky environment. If you could have gotten down a little lower you may have been able to clear the bird's head of the rock that is there now.
