Hi Gio this is not working at all for me ....sorry .
The piece of wood on the RHS is just too dominant and does look like the major subject due toits size and better tonal structure that the croc .
Sorry does sound harsh ....but this are just my thoughts .

Hi Gio -- Great to see you posting again but I am also with Andreas , both versions are not working for me , infact in the colour version the BG grass is also acting as a distraction . Sorry !

    Hello Gio,

Good to see you back and posting, I was hoping to see some of your Zimanga images at some stage. Did you enjoy your trip in SA?

There's a symmetry to your B/W frame I am inclined to like. But I do have difficulty ignoring the OOF log, as well as the white twig in the BG which is quite obvious in the reflection. The crocodile looks a tad too sharp IMO.

I am afraid most Black and White images are not so forgiving when it comes to distracting elements. It is possible that this frame was captured tentatively or hurriedly and you did not manage to pay attention to all those elements present at the scene. It is too crowded and therefore I find it overwhelming, sorry Gio.

Hope you have more from this trip and I am sure opportunities were plenty. Thank you so much for sharing,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

The B&W version the croc looks very crunchy to me, in the colour versions it all looks a bit red. have you done some blurring in the B&W? I appreciate your thought process, I would almost certainly have taken this shot myself but I have to agree when posted the the croc is competing with too much distraction .
