This looks pretty good for such a high ISO. Really like the pose and background.

IQ and NR look excellent!
I really like the "wet look" and the trailing head feather.
Perfect comp for the head angle you got.
I can really get a sense of how dark it was judging by the dilated pupil!
I might try a version with the green in the upper BG desaturated a bit.
Lovely!

Hey Juan, IQ looks great as does the PP here. I also really like the trailing head feather. These really are fun birds to photograph and often are tucked away where higher ISOs are required. I've been pretty happy with the D500 at higher ISOs and have been feeling more and more comfortable pushing it, I have a couple shots around 14k full frame that have come out clean, although definitely not every shot that high. I agree that desaturating the BG a tad would help. TFS

Hi Juan, looks good. Love the wet feathers, also as Gail noted the dilated pupil indicates how dark it was. The key is not having to lighten the image in post processing. Thank you for sharing.

Looks good to me too, lots of good fine detail. I love the slight "grin" directly below the eye. I do find the heron a tad low in the frame.
