I have been testing my new toy, the 1Dmk3, thoroughly over the last few days, just to make sure it is free of any AF problems. I mainly tested at a car rally but of course also with some birds in flight. Overall I am very happy with its performance so far. Though I did not go for any keepers, I kind of liked this one. I deliberately shot wide open and at high SS for testing purposes.

I like the incoming pose and the orange light really adds to it. I might crop a bit off the bottom. I'm glad your 1D3 works well.

Great looking light on that one wing. Too bad you could not get a bank with more of the light on the underside.

Hi Vincent, congrats on your new toy and I am glad it is working out well. Good timing and lovely light as mentioned on the left wing. Would love to see more light all around. Many thanks for sharing.

    Nicely done Vincent,
I like the fine details on the wing and the warm glow. Agree with crop on the bottom of the frame...

I really like the two-tone effect of the left and right underwings here. Very nice.

Yes to sharp and yes to the crop from the bottom but with the bird's head in total shade and one underwing sunlit this one does not work for me.

Lovely pose and nice composition, I agree that the shadow on the majority of the body is overpowered by the bright spots, would be soooo much better with full light on the subject.
