This is a common butterfly probably the most common around where I live. Having said that I have barely seen ten so far this year. Tonight I walked through the wildflower meadow as usual and I did not see a single one in fact no butterflies of any species. Reports are that in general decline is between 70-80% of most species in this country.

Hi Jon, lovely image. I am not familiar with the butterfly, nice to see something new. I like to composition, color palette, and fine detail on the butterfly. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful soft light - does not look flashed at all! Lots of fine detail at ISO 3200, excellent overall sharpness, nice comp, and a pleasingly OOF background. Nailed it!!

    Hi Jon,
I like the brown of the butterfly against the green background and the yellow flower makes for a nice touch too. Well done.
