Love this little spot close to our house....when the big scary things are a bit scarce its a good spot to head for some baboon action.

I just love the way this little guy is almost looking at his mother trying to get something out of her. As for the light....shooting straight into the sun. Some don't like it, I love it

I really like it. The golden glow of the light, the halo around the mother's figure, and the way the baby is turning towards the mother. I just wish there wasnt that small bright spot in the uper right corner, but as you said, you shoot into the sun.

I love it too, very much

The warm glow from the sun is sublime. I guess you often wander out of the house on a glorious day like this, looking for beauty:)

Very effective frame, loaded with mood and a great deal of interest provided by the interaction between subjects. This image will stay with me long after I switch off my computer tonight, oh it just works Lance...

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Lance - A very effective use of backlighting and that warm glow. It works for me too. Well seen and captured. I do remember you saying you loved the pink/red/orange light images of shooting into the sun.

    Rachel

Haha i think I remember it as well.....I believe there were plans for rhinos in some golden light until something happened and all the plans changed

Thank you :D Im sure the light corner could be "fixed" with some editing....I am, however, at the "less is best" phase of my photography journey when it comes to editing, unless I take an image with a specific outcome in mind. (Hence the shooting into the sun excuse :P)

I would have thought that it was impossible to shoot directly into the sun this shows how wrong we can be,it's beautiful I love everything about it.

Hi Keith, The trick is not to blind yourself whilst doing it :D to which I have come close a few times. I like to remove the lens hood and keep the copious amounts of dust that build up on my front element to make it turn really orange ;)

Hi Lance -- I too like to shoot against the light and the results sometimes are amazing , like the one you have captured here . Loved the interaction between the two and warm golden hues are adding to the interaction / mood of the image . Works well for me. It seems you have some amazing collection with you , keep them coming .

    TFS !

Thanks Steve, it does love this scenario (I have about 100 shots of black rhino in similar light, much to Rachel's despair :D

Hi Lance....I posted on this image yesterday but I see its not here.
Very nice idea and I love the pose of the youngster.

I would try reduce the saturation and the brightness...I tried it on the image and looked quite nice. See what you think...

An absolute stunner as far as I'm concerned. I love the backlighting and the deep orange colours. The rim light on the monkeys adds a huge amount, and there is then the added bonus go good interaction between the pair, especially the expression on junior.
