Hi Keith - What a cute pose! Very nice separation from the bg. I am leaving the squirrel's color to you as this one is very red but we don't have reds here. There is some magenta fringing in the edges of the fur that I tried to remove but there's still a little bit. I also thought this one cried out for a portrait crop. WDYT?

    Rachel

Not much wrong with this one Keith, detail clarity and sharpness spot on for me. I think Rachel RP is too tight, especially on the LHS, if you do crop then I would just loose the the quarter stone on the RHS which does help IMHO. Adding a little selective Clarity to the Dry Stone wall brings out a tad more detail/texture. In addition you need to reduce the Highlights slider for the centre part of the sky as it has no Tone.

There is some magenta fringing in the edges of the fur that I tried to remove but there's still a little bit.
It's Purple Rachel, not Magenta, just reduce the Purple and the fringing disappears.

Thanks Steve, I looked at the magenta quickly while cropping to the standard portrait comp.

Thanks Rachel I always seem to go for landscape but I can certainly see the benefit of your crop, colour wise I think the red is about right but that is a difficult one they change with the seasons winter and summer coats ,this one was late winter early spring,I am pleased I did not miss the magenta it's something that I always look at closely from what I have learned from this forum, pity I missed the purple. Thanks Steve getting rid of that stone would certainly balance it out and perhaps give it more of a stepping stone effect.Thank you Haseeb was not sure about this when I posted so your words are very encouraging.

    Hello Keith,

Nice techs, well exposed, super detail and I love the fiery red fur of the little squirrel! Are they really this red? What beauty - I would love one for my garden, pretty please
You have a winner here, just take another look at those purples and play a bit more with comp, I am certainly loving this, show us more

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thank you Dumay much appreciated,Hi Gabriela,I think the red is about right for the conditions and the light at the time and it got passed Steve's eye,got to admit that I might have given to much attention to magenta and blue and missed the purple,Gabriela thanks a lot for your interest and help.

Lovely shot Keith, I have to confess the purple does look apparent but mainly because purple was mentioned! At first look I didn't notice then I saw Rachels repost and got a sense of a tinge then when purple was mentioned I saw it.

Nits about colour aside this is gorgeous Keith, the drystone is quite an unusual setting for a red squirrel and boy doesn't it work.Superb detail Keith a classic pose, cor i wish this was mine !! Such a shame they brought the greys here!!!!
