You get A+ for the beautiful singing pose, clean BG and nice perch.
I really like the in focus leaves all the way through the image.
I find that this image has a bit of a "flashed look" on the parula. I went back and looked at your EXIF data and see that you were a -2 which is really "just a kiss" of light but for some reason the image still has the flashed look. Perhaps what I am seeing is a bit too much contrast and sharpening?
I will be interested to see if others see what I am seeing.

PS Did you clone something out on left of leaves? I see a little line there.

Bill, Nice pose, action, and BG but IMO the image looks very flat do to the flash.

Gail and Tim. Thanks for your comments. You're both right. In the frame immediately after this, the flash only partially recycled, and it looks more natural. I had originally intended to process that one, but there is a shadow across part of the bird (you can see it on the head), which was more pronounced on the partially flashed shot. I should have tried to mitigate the flash effect. I'm not sure what the best way is, but here I reduced the contrast by around 12%, reduced brightness by 2 clicks, added 2 points of black to neutrals and yellows. I think it's a bit better, but I might have gone further. What do you think?

Gail, I'm always in awe of your eagle eye. I did clone out another plant on the left. When I look closely I may see a hint of posterization, but I can't see the line you're referring to.

I think this looks great and don't mid the flashed look one bit. Excellent singing pose and a perfect background. About as good of a Parula shot I have seen. My only wish was that some of the leaves were not cut off. I would be thrilled to have a shot like this. I find the repost a little too flat and not as vibrant as the original.

Great pose. I can almost hear the song. Background and perch work well. I see what Isaac with the repost being less vibrant but still prefer it to he original flash.

Wonderful calling pose, Bill. Great perch and lovely BG. I like what you did with the repost and keeping the colors rich.
