I captured this image at the rookery in Gatorland, Orlando, Florida yesterday morning. The bird landed, I moved quickly to position and got off two frames before the bird took flight again. It was having a difficult time holding onto the perch. Heavy overcast, spitting rain off and on. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Wicked picture all around...I love the pose and comp. Great setting for it too. Just too aggressive with the NR on the heron though - I normally do not apply any to the subject, and if I have to do so, only in very reduced amounts. I'm OK with it on the BG though.

Daniel took the words right out of my mouth!
I noticed the NR on the bird immediately. Easy fix though.
Great pose and I love the way the lower foot is placed,

Daniel and Gail, thank you for viewing and commenting. Here is an edit, back to my usual workflow using Lightroom. No noise reduction to the bird, only noise reduction to the out of focus background using the Adjustment Brush selectively.
