For years I've wanted to add this species to my warbler portfolio, but my few sightings of them have always been at a distance, in the treetops. Several weeks ago we went on a mission to find one that had been reported along a 20 mile stretch of back road near the Delaware Water Gap - eBird gave no specifics. One 4-1/2" bird somewhere along 20 miles of forested road? Piece of cake. I pulled off at what seemed a good spot and played his call. He responded immediately. It took awhile for him to give us some good looks, but here he is.

Very well done on tracking down this beautiful looking warbler. I like the detail, and calling pose. I may be tempted to clone out the twig on the left, as it draws my eye a little.

I have to give you top marks for capturing this fairly rare warbler.

    Well done Bill!

Nice calling capture, Bill. Like the light and the exposure. I agree with William on cloning out the twig on the left.

Awesome pose and color on this bird, one of my bucket list birds haha, I also vote for deletion of the dark stick on the left. :)

A bucket list warbler for me as well photography-wise, although just as you I have seen them a few times up high in the tree tops. Nice of it to come down for you! Nice calling pose. I do see some repeating clone marks along the larger part of the perch.

Once again the BPNers' consensus is to pare down the image to basic bird and perch and simple background. I had thought the second twig might help balance the comp and frame the bird; but having tried its removal as suggested, perhaps you are right. I've also removed at least the most obvious of the clone repeat marks, where I had cloned out several distracting patches of sunlight on the large branch. Thanks to everyone for your helpful comments and suggestions.
