Default American Redstart Surrounded by Blooms.

Most of the apple and Crabapple trees have gone past blooming prime, but this one was still going full-force. This male American Redstart was more than obliging in making himself as an ornament to further decorate the branches.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual e exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop for comp, darkened the brightest highlights in the petals, lightened the iris. Audio used.

Nice, really like how the bird is framed by the flowers.

Great light and perch and really nice job getting the bird in just the right place so its not hidden or cut off. Nice details in the blacks and the catchlight is very clean here. TFS

A very colorful frame. Good pose by the Redstart, although he is somewhat dominated by the blooms.

Looking good Dan. I like the pose on the bird, perched in the perfect position, surrounded by the blooms. Very pleasing to the eye.

Very nice indeed. Looks like he was hiding from you and you still found it! Lovely shot. Thank you for sharing the image with us Daniel.

lovely settings, light and pose, love the blooms but I do agree with Bill that they are a bit overpowering the subject here, wish at least there was not intersection between the blooms and the bird
