Captured yesterday morning at a local preserve. Audio coaxed him down to eye leve.

This is lovely Bill. Great eye level view, perfect head turn, great BG and perfect exposure.
The vegetation on the right is a bit distracting but certainly not a deal breaker as it seems to balance the picture fairly well.I could see a version with the plants cloned out and the little top of the branch above the warblers back cloned out as well.

Wonderful capture of a striking warbler, Bill. Nice head turn, spot on exposure, and beautiful light quality.

Another nice warbler, nice pose love the head angle and background. The leaves on the right are a little distracting.

Lovely details, colors and pose. Nice BG, I agree that cloning the leaves will make the image stronger. Well done Bill. TFS.

Thank you all. I had thought that just the bird, without the vegetation, would look too plain. But there seems to be a consensus, so here's a version without the vegetation. I've left the bit of stem above the bird, since I felt it needed some termination.

Wonderful colours on this little one Bill---and I vote for the one with the leaves--the bird is so striking that they add subtle context without being a visual distraction.

Very nice shot Bill. Was up at Sterling Forest this weekend and got nice close looks at one of these. But of course it never came low. Details and exposure are very nice. I prefer the repost but think you have some signs of cloning artifacts where the leaves were removed. The colors are different there and it does not have the same smooth colors of the rest of the background.

Thanks Isaac. I can see I did a hasty job of the cloning. It can be improved.

Here's a version with a bit smoother bg where the cloning was done. I did my best to remove posterization, but I think I'm seeing some creeping in after conversion to jpg.
