    How lucky we are to have several of these beauties recently move into a local wildlife preserve to start their new families. C&C welcome.

    Lucky you indeed to have these around. I like the alert pose and the perch. I'd likely have photographed at a wide open aperture to blur the BG vegetation a bit more. A bit more frontal lighting to splash the belly would have been nice, but the face is nicely lit.

    I really like this. A different pose than the classic shot of a bird on a perch but I find it very interesting. I really like the vegetation. Going with what Daniel said maybe you could lift the exposure a little on the bird. Background is nice as well but I see his point about shooting at a lower aperture. Could always select the background and lower the contrast a little to create a tiny bit more blur if so inclined. I'd love a shot like this for my portfolio.
