    Taken the other day at a local wildlife preserve in early morning light, perched on a Milkweed plant. C&C welcome.

    D500, Nikon 500mm f4/G + 1.4 TC, 1/800s, f 7.1, ISO 1000, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    I like the composition and how the bird is looking back. the bird looks a little soft.

    I love this species. Great setting for it, and the comp is well chosen. Perhaps a touch more sharpening on the subject' face area would work well. Nicely done overall.

    Nice shot Geoffrey I like the in habitat feel, I suspect the focus may have been on the wing but I suspect a tad more sharpening on the face as previously suggested would help.
