    Default Northern Parula

Captured two days ago in Northern New Jersey. Maybe it's because it was an unusually hot day, but I thought this had a certain tropical feel to it.

Nice environmental image, like the perch, wish the bird was more to the left.

Bill I feel there is a little bit of magic here, I really like the shot very much indeed. I appreciate colours will be rich but I am just wondering if it looks a tad heavy, perhaps a tad less contrast and or a little less saturation??

Another nemisis bird for me, nice job with the subtle fill flash bringing out the details and color. like the sumac leaf frame

Nice work capturing this guy with a nice pose and a catchlight to boot. IQ looks great to me. I agree with John on putting the bird more to the left if possible. That Friday was an absolute scorcher of a day. TFS

I love the colors and the way the foliage framed the bird here. Details look great and against a beautiful background. I only wish you had better eye contact/head angle.

This is awesome! It does look tropical indeed. I'm OK with the centered placement of the parula due to the wicked framing with vegetation all around. I do wish the head was not tilted back as much though, but this is a high impact image!

Like this image a lot, Bill. The tropical feel is great given it's Northern New Jersey. Very nice perched position. Well done.

I don't mind the head angle too much because the framing and the colors in this frame are what make it special. Exposure and details look great too. Actually, Not much I don't like. Nice frame Bill

Thank you all. I do have a frame with a BPN-approved head angle, but he is looking the other way. I rather liked the wistful look toward the open space, that I thought balanced the image better. I agree that if he had looked slightly downward it might be better. A move to the left is an idea I could support.
