Welcome to the forum Jack and a superb first post. Love the light, details and calling pose. Nicely exposed against the darker background. I'm a bit ambivalent about the small shoot from the branch being so close to the bird.

Nice background and pose on the bird, like the colors.

Lovely image, Jack. I think the little sprout of vegetation pulls my eyes away from the bird, I might remove it but no big thing. Thank you for sharing.

Welcome to BPN and yes I agree, beautiful first post. Everything looks fantastic here from the colors to be exposure to the details to the pose to the background. Well done and keep them coming

Nice job separating the iris and pupil so well. Usually when I see the eye of a Yellow Warbler it's merely a black spot. He really pops against that dark background. Well done Jack!

Welcome Jack and what a start! I really like the exposure and detail. I am not usually a fan of dark backgrounds but I think this works well.
My first feeling was "is this a little over sharpened or is it just the light rendering amazing detail?" I suspect it is just the light, great shot I am looking forward to seeing more of your images.
