    This was a tough bird to photograph as tthey are master skulkers in the underbrush, but I finally got a clear shot. Canon Xti, 400mmf5.6 lens.

    Tough lighting on this. The Caterpillar is a bonus. I think it would be better if there were more cropped off the left and more room for the bird to look into. This way he is not so centered.

    Hi Dave. You did well catching one of these guys with a caterpillar in its mouth! The eye is sharp too. I'd like to see more DOF in this image, and I think fill flash would have helped light up the bird some. There appears to be a group of hot pixels underneath the low branch on the left. It would help if you posted complete technical specs on your photo. Thanks for posting!

    Love the caterpillar. Image looks way noisy but on the other hand, you did a pretty good job of reducing the contrast.
