Beautiful capture with lovely lighting and excellent detail as well as a wonderful low angle. Although I love the natural look in this composition I would be tempted to remove the two rocks on the right as I find my eye is being drawn away for the Dunlin. fine work and many thanks for sharing Jim.

    Default Hi Judy

I guess this is where I question what exactly it is that we're trying to capture.

Personally, I tend to lean toward and environmental shot and while perhaps this time it wouldn't be the case, I worry more about making things too darn sterile.

Shorebirds often times sit near little bits of washed up weeds, the rack line or stones for comfort.

Again, I guess it depends on whether or not the photographer is trying to capture reality...or not?

Very nice image, Jim. Great low angle. I agree with Judy Lynn about the 2 rocks in the BG.

I like the angle and peaceful mood and might remove the specular highlights.

I love the rocks in the back, and I don't like the stuff in the front (at all). Very pleasing image, with good technicals. Nice work, Jim.

I like everything about the photo, the bird is beautiful, I see it exactly as it is, a shorebird taking a rest from his northbound migration in an all natural setting.
