I'd love to see a Gannet landed on land and not way out in the water. The details look nice but agree with Arthur that the light is harsh and you have strong shadows below. Also I find the bird too tight in the frame and would like to see more room on the left.

    Yep and challenging too Artie.

It perhaps means more fun because you have to work at your settings and also then think ahead - how you will deal with the capture in the PP stage?

I hope you don't get the same in two months times, albeit this is approximately 120 more South to your location on the Farnes.

I like the ruffled feathers, agree with the others about the light. Nice detail in the whites though.

    Hi Steve ...cool looking Gannet.
The head turn and the wind swept mane makes this for me.
Usual high IQ as in all of your postings.Very well controlled strong lighting.
I bet you have used HTP on this one ....
    Was this at Bempton ?

Hi Steve, whites look good from here and I like the wind swept neck. You managed a lovely HA too. From the neck up, your Gannets are so similar, but I know the black markings on the wings are bit different.
