These guys are strong swimmers...the pond was calm as can be, with all the water action you see here caused by this individual eagerly motoring towards shore.
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/640s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld while lying prone at the pond's edge, about 80% FF. Audio used.

You nailed the DOF by getting the entire bill in sharp focus- not easy to do with a bird moving towards you.

Nice detail and eye contact, I really like the emerald green color in the water around the duck too.

The wave is the icing on the cake that makes it a winner for me. The bird himself is lovely with great techs as expected, but the colours and the wave are superb.
