I never tire of watching Big Red - at the cost of shots of other species to be honest, but I liked this one of a little breakfast snack being caught at Ft Desoto north beach lagoon

Nice low angle really like the water splash. Good background as well.

Agree -- great low angle, nice light and complimentary BG against the bird, and great action. BG looks just a bit noisy and it would be interesting to see a version with just a bit more of the fish showing but this is very nice. These guys are so fun to watch. TFS

    Hi Mike,
I have been to Fort deSoto a few times in the past 2 months and am sorry to have not met you.
This reddish has to be the most photographed bird at Fort deSoto!
You have captured him very nicely with a great POV, excellent IQ and lovely action captured.
This is a minor issue and not a deal breaker but if this was mine I would "even out" the brown band (sandbar) on the right hand side to make it the same width. The tapering of the brown band pulls my eye away from the reddish egret.
a lovely image and a keeper for sure,
    gail

Great low angle and hunting behaviour. Nice colours, sharp all around. Great frame!

Probably the same bird I shot a few years ago there! Nice lighting, details and exposure in this one Mike. I like the low POV and the vivid colors and details make this one a nice keeper. Well done

    Thanks Gail,

What a pity we missed each other, would have been nice to have met up.

There is always a crowd around him, but he's so entertaining and photogenic I find it difficult to leave hime alone!

I'll take a look at the brown banking and see if my PP skills are up to it
