From my same shoot, this post has room for virtual legs... Does anyone know what prey item he has here? Taken in Fort Myers, FL... The RAW image is tack sharp, but my processing doesn't reflect sharpness... grrrrhhhhh

Ann, nice soft pastels, good angle and catchlight, prey might be a pipefish, the birds love them here on the west coast.

It looks sharp to me. Very nice lighting and head angle, nice low POV. looks like some sort of worm to me, they will eat anything that moves. This would be perfect if you could remove the dark spots in the water.

Sharpness looks good to me too. I think lowering the overall luminosity by about 1/3 stop would work well, and I agree cleaning up the water surface would be nice. I love the curled prey item at the tip of the bill, and the low angle is very appealing.

Looks great Ann! I like the soft colors in this one and the details and lighting look nice too. Cool looking prey item but not sure if it's a worm or a small pipefish.. Well done
