    Default Calling Purple Sandpiper

Here is another shot of one of a pair of Purple Sandpipers that I photographed a couple of weeks ago in Queens, New York. Photographed them while standing barefoot in the freezing cold ocean. I mentioned in the other photo that the light was too good and the birds too close to risk not getting the shot. Only thing I had to do was deal with the cold. Wish I had a bit more depth of field, but in the field I did not realize that I was lacking. Combined with the freezing water and the birds moving around I was a little short.

Nice sharp image with a good composition. I like the off position of the feet. Nice background as well.

Great calling pose, nice rock and BG. Everything good except the DOF as you noted.

Thanks guys. They have remarkably strong feet. These little birds make a living getting pounded by surf and spray all winter. Amazingly hardy birds. Arash you would loosen on all sides evenly?
