We are getting some big spring tides here, and when the tide is low it is giving the opportunity to get closer to the flight paths of the sea birds. A clamber over the now exposed rocks, at low tide, is well worth it. The BG is a breaking wave.
Nice image of the bird. Good exposure and handling of the light which brings out the subtle colouring of the feathers. I might be tempted to crop down from the top a bit as I find the brightness drawing my eye upwards away from the subject.
You caught the bird very well Will, lovely colours and a good pose too. I am just a little reserved about the crashing wave and the colour of the water.
(I am guessing this is DPP?)
I actually like the crashing wave above as it puts the bird's surf location into context. Nice overall, I'm just wondering if the blacks could go deeper.
