Nice crisp image of this bird! nice colors, angle, and bokeh. I am heading to florida for a few days this weekend, i wonder if these birds will still be around at this time of year, I will be bringing my camera just in case
The details look nice and good walking pose. I'm the odd man out on this I guess. Bird has a blue cast to me and the colors are off a bit. When seen in nice light they are reddish brown above with clean white below with deep black heads.
Thank you for the comments guys, I really appreciate them.
Isaac, I looked at the image and it appears a little cold, but I checked the whites again and they're balanced on the RGB (all around 235). Any explanation? Did you saved the image and look at the whites? I made the picture a little warmer RGB= 237-237-235. Does this one look better to you?

It is quite easy for a bird to have a color cast. Usually from the light being too warm or the reflection of something as well. In this case I would imagine that the whites are getting the reflection of the blue water and it gave them a blue cast. You could have them at 235 but still have a blue cast.
I imported your pic. Selected only the whites. Went to hue/saturation and lowered the blues and greens, then went to color efex in NIK and selected the white neutralizer. Used it at 50% opacity.
Then selected the back of the bird and the head, Increased the reds and decreased the blues in hue/saturation.
To me this is a more accurate reflection of an oystercatcher in warm and direct light. As always, it is better to do this work on the raw and the original file.
