    Recent capture out a Coyote Hills here in the Bay Area (California). SS higher than I'd like but trying to prep for possible flight... didn't happen... should have shot a few at slow SS for recused ISO... but... also, while posted image is not as sharp as on computer - I think I front focused a bit here as the bill looks sharper than the eye to me...

    Details: D500-300 PF with TC1.4, - settings: 1/2000, f/8, 420mm, ISO 1000

    Jay what you have is a Short-billed Dowitcher. Image looks to be a large crop and then over sharpened to bring out the details.
    Notice the white line around the bird, that's usual caused by over sharpening.
