Green Heron somewhat "deer in the headlights" faced. Last capture on an outing... came out of nowhere. I'd been shooting Tree Swallow so my SS was higher than I'd like and no chance to avoid the weed beclouding the left bottom - but still - glad for the encounter.

    Details: D500 with 300 PF f4, 1/3200, f7.1, 300mm, ISO 1250, HH - post in CS6 and Neat Image work.

    C&C welcome.

Looking at the image I see it appears soft but in CS6 it is sharp as can be. Hmmm...

You are right, it does look soft as posted. Did you resize to no more than 1000 pixels vertically and no more than 400kb before posting? If not than it can happen that the image will be compressed to fit those specs...

Ignoring the softness issue, I like the alert pose, and I like the perch too. Vegetation at bottom noted, and I understand you had no time to move. I do see some cloning evidence here and there in the BG.
