Hi Rachel , well timed frame with perfectly curled tongue !!!! Love it.
Framing works well and you have gorgeous fine detail ... hey i love that when we are are able to make the fine detail visible in the fur . Really enjoy looking at this kinda image .
Overal i think the image is a bit " flat" and has somehow a pinkish look , i think . You were there ....
I might use the full range of tones and darken the mid tones a fraction , but not globally .

    Hello Rachel,

This really works for me because of its "studio" feel, I also like the "pinkishness" if I may call it that:)

Well exposed, well composed and lovely detail. I keep wondering about those mid tones Andreas mentioned...I nearly said yes, please boost them. But my next thought was, I kind of like this soft dreamy look, the eyes are closed too, so maybe not adding any "punch" seems appropriate somehow? Looking forward to what the others have to say, I personally like this as presented, thank you so much Rachel.

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thanks Gabriela. I did go for a softer look here. I think I had posted another image from this sighting earlier without the curled tongue and some of the suggestions were to back off the contrast. I processed with those comments in mind. Maybe I went a bit too far the other direction.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Hi Rachel, nice clean backdrop for this and being square on has worked for this portrait, nice timing on the tongue.

Overal i think the image is a bit " flat" and has somehow a pinkish look ,
I would agree with Andreas on this comment, there's no real tonal depth/lighting here, creating little 'Form & Shape' to the face. With some simple changes in the Exposure module & bringing in some more colour certainly helps overall and that tongue starts to have an almost 3D quality, Contrast I don't think is the issue. Also adding some more 'perceptual' selective USM helps the finer hair to come through too.

Hi Rachel, the light looks soft enough, and I really like the curled tongue, and it pops so well against the clean BG. Overall, good DOF, and a different comp which I like.

Hi Rachel -- quite late on this , but i really liked this frame , full of fine details and nicely framed as well. Sometimes it becomes very tricky in framing tight angles but you have done exceedingly well . Would have loved to see a RP based on the above suggestions .

    TFS !

A great close up image Rachel! Obviously, I like the twisted tongue and also the very clean background. The soft look very much comply with the soft background.

You write that you have made a slight crop for composition. If possible, I would include some more space to the left, as I find the crop a little too tight against the ear.

    Regards
    Steen

Thanks Haseeb and Steen. Steen- I do have a little more room on the left. I purposely cropped tight to the ear. I'll take another look.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel
