Default Sandhill Cranes on Golden Pond, Bosque del Apache

First post in this forum. Here goes . . .

Nikon D500 Nikkor 300mm f/4 lens RRS tripod, Wimberley II head

    f/5.6 1/500 ISO 450

Going for an environmental silhouette image here. Really peaceful and quiet on this pond at Bosque del Apache NWR, as the sun set.

Processed the raw image in LR, and took it into On 1 Photo Raw - Effects to enhance the color a bit.

Appreciate any suggestions or comments. Probably need to crop a bit on the left side. Wish I had left more room on the right side. Also appreciate input on whether the top of the image (i.e., the black) just detracts from the image.

    Thank you.

Pretty nice silhouette David, I like the separation between the cranes I wish you had the golden BG throughout the image and a bit cleaner FG. TFS

Welcome to BPN, David. A very nice first post. I like the positions of the birds, and personally like the amount of space you left on the left. I might be tempted to experiment with a pano, cropping some of the dark top, and cloning out the three dark blobs (ducks) above the cranes.

Thank you so much for the comments and suggestions! Krishna Prasad Kotti I will definitely post the histogram. You are probably correct about the exposure. Thanks again.
