    Default European Bison at rest

    Hi all ,
just want to share another Bison from Kraansvlak ( Netherlands ) .I was so lucky to be around those massive guys without coming into stress with them , as they behaved so gentle and i felt safe while being amongst them . Well only after we got used to each other .
This bull was so cool with my presence , he just went down for a rest in my back ..... i recognized that later when i turned around to look for a new subject .
So i crawled slowly closer and even crawled around him for a different angle ....

    Canon EOS 1Dx MK2
    EF 200 - 400 IS L with TC engaged ( 506 mm)
    HH

    F7,1 ; Iso 6400 ; 1/2500 sec

Processed with DPP 4.6 ( fine detail) and PS CC 2017 ; cropped and leveled slightly ; not happy with the missing reddish color in the fine hairs that meets the sky , but it is in the raw so i have no solution to get the color back in .

Thanks fro watching and commenting to my previous thread

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas - A nice close-up but somehow not as much life in it as your other images of these big bulls. Perhaps it's the deeper shadows although you handled the mixed light well. I like seeing the gradients in the color of the beard. I did notice the CA type look to the fine hairs at the top before reading your intro. Tough to deal with against the bright sky. Keep them coming.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Thanks Rachel for your comment and suggestions , much appreciated .
Well this frame is slightly darker in terms of the dark tones , left it that dark as from what i remember it was that way even the sun was shining , through a thin cloud cover .
Found a way to minimize the missing color on the back of the bison and lifted the darks through a darks mask from the red channel with ACR filter .

    Thanks again Andreas

    Dear Andreas,

I like this, very much. Amused and very taken with the stare you captured from this Bison - not sure how to describe it, I'd say say he looks defiant but without a trace of irritation:)
Superb detail and textures as well as colours Boetie, great PP work as expected

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Nice portrait Andreas, but again, I just personally feel it's a bit cramped, especially at the foot. As this was cropped do you have any more image content below? Could see it with a bit more warmer depth to it as an alternative.

Hi Andreas -- The bison series is superb, you have got some amazing frames previously and this one also works for me considering its tight nature. RP is an improvement .
